1828 - The Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmibai was born (19 November 1828 – 18 June 1858). She was one of the leading figures of the first Indian freedom struggle of 1857 and became a symbol of resistance to the British Raj for Indian nationalism. Her birtn name was Manikarnika Tambe, Manikarnika was married to the Maharaja of Jhansi, Gangadhar Rao Newalkar, in May 1842 and was afterwards called Rani Lakshmibai.
 
1917 - India's Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was born (19 November 1917 – 31 October 1984). She was first and only female Prime Minister of India till date and she was holding her office at time of her assassination.
 
1922 – Legendary songwriter, music director, lyricist, writer, and poet Sri Salil Chowdhury was born (19 November 1922 - 5 September 1995). He predominantly composed for Bengali, Hindi, and He composed music for films in 13 languages. This includes over 75 Hindi films, 41 Bengali films,around 27 Malayalam films and some Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Oriya and Assamese films.
 
1975 - Miss Universe Sushmita Sen was born. She was the first one to get the designation of MISS UNIVERSE from our Country. She is also a successful actor and entrepreneur.
