1908 - Famous poet of India Sri. Ramdhari Singh Dinkar was born (23 September 1908 - 24 April 1974). He was a prominent Hindi poet, essayist, patriot and academic and parliamentarian.
1917- Asima Chatterjee (23 September 1917 – 22 November 2006) was an Indian organic chemist noted for her work in the fields of organic chemistry and phytomedicine. She was the first woman to receive a Doctorate of Science from any Indian university.
