1950 : Indian politician and current Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Damodardas Modi was born.

1965 : The Battle of Chawinda was fought between India and Pakistan. It was one of the largest tank battles in world history since the Battle of Kursk in World War II.

1974 : Bangladesh, Grenada, and Guinea-Bissau joined the United Nations.

1978 : Israel and Egypt signed the first peace treaty, this is also called “The Camp David Accords”.

1991 : Estonia, North Korea, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, the Marshall Islands and Micronesia joined the United Nations.
