Denial

Denial

It is easier sometimes
To just watch and smile

Than to go and say
That you’re not okay

You are not alone
But the known seem unknown

You cry for help
But you hold your yelp

You know your fate
But you can’t relate

To what the people say
You feel like a castaway

The ocean’s deep
You want to sleep

Nightmares chase
You see your face

In the mirror of guilt
Burning down your quilt

You can’t seem to relax
It’s like a melting wax

Pouring down your soul
And your heart turns to coal

You keep denying
But you know you’re lying

To you and yourself
It won’t heal itself

You don’t really try
To say goodbye

To all the problems that move
Along with you

You always push aside
All your guides

You seem to love being lost
But at what cost?

Will this cycle ever end?
I am asking you, my friend…
