Are You on the Verge of Attack?

You are checking mails and you have received an offer to buy something at a very cheap price or a call for interview. It might be a lottery wining or an exclusive discount for special customers. You might be  attracted to grab the opportunity but in reality most of them are fake. You will be asked to  provide your card number or account information for some reason  and the procedure of transaction will be started from other side. Once you are online, you must be ready to face billions of cyber-criminal hunting for their next prey. According to a survey  there is a hacking attack  in every 39 second in the world.

If we consider all kind of attack, frequency  will  increase and attack rate will be much dense.

In 2018, it has been found that cyber-crime will profit more than 1.5 trillion dollar. Worldwide spending to protect data is more than 124 billion dollar as forecast by Gartner. Companies are preparing themselves to shield against cyber-attack but what about common people. It is also proved 95% of all cyber security breaches are due to human error. When people are facing this type of attack first time, it is very tough to understand which is real and which is a trap. Companies are providing training to their  employees to recognize potential attack and prevent  them but what if we are not connected with any IT farm. The situation is like a child is roaming in the battlefield and the problem is that he doesn’t know that he is standing in front of a combat zone.

Now let us take benefit of our imagination. Someone is sitting with us with all of his patience and supervising our online activities, giving us  suggestion how to dodge attack and how to grab  real opportunity. No! That does not remain science fiction anymore; it is science now. A special branch of engineering known as NLP make it happened.

NLP-Natural Language Processing deals with  sentences we are using in our day to day life. It is used to build a human-machine interface. Precisely a machine should understand what human is speaking. NLP enabled system can recognize  different parts of speech like noun, pronoun, etc. There are lots of algorithms for that. Also, system can take help of a dictionary. When a human first  learn a language, he should learn some grammatical rules and need to build a vocabulary. In the same way NLP can work, but human learns from various  examples also. Like reading a newspaper or  watching  movies contribute a great deal of  knowledge.

When this procedure is implemented in NLP, it is  called Machine Learning. Even we can incorporate a small artificial brain structure (Neural Network) to store hidden pattern in the example then it will become Deep learning. These are different way how we can put NLP in use.

With all of these we can put a security guard in front of our online door. First thing this security guard will not pilfer anything so we can let it  analyze data in our browser cookies or machine cache. It can predict if our significant personal data are vulnerable.

It can predict what are the mails sent for attack and  what are the actual opportunities. It can analyze website domain name to understand to identify a malicious site. Also, it enables to check if there is any crime related discussion in a forum or in online chat.

Above all still it is giving a prediction and could not reach human intelligence. If a human being is aware of all kind of attack then his one billion neurons  could work better than any NLP system.
