Top 7 national parks to trigger the adventure bug in you

The rapid surge in Omicron cases have deterred tourists from going on vacations. Many have cancelled bookings leaving hotel and resort owners in peril. But once these cases decrease the travel bug will trigger enthusiasm again.

As India has a versatile range of animals across its landscape, the sanctuaries and national parks take with preserving these exotic creatures. We've put together a list of the greatest jungle safaris in India you can visit all year round.

1. Ranthambore National Park: Located in Rajasthan, the Ranthambore National Park is home to a diminishing number of tigers distributed across 1,300 square kilometres. The best time to visit here is between March and May. Aside from tigers, you can also see sloth bears, wild boards, monitor lizards, Indian chameleons, Indian flying foxes, and sambars. The national park is very well-known among animal photographers.

2. Hemis National Park: This tourist spot in Ladakh is one of the world's highest altitude parks. The weather is characterised by cold winds and heavy snowfall. Due to significant snowfall in November, the park remains closed.  Hence, the perfect time to visit is ideally between May to September. The major attractions are snow leopards, ibex, blue sheep, snow cocks, and Tibetan argali sheep.

3. Jim Corbett National Park: The Jim Corbett National Park takes its name after the famous British hunter. It is Asia's first National Park and one of the most well-known. Legend says that the hunter and adventurer mainly pursued man-eating tigers and reached the area.

Following his death, the entire region was designated as a national park in order to prevent tigers from becoming extinct. There are four zones to visit in Jim Corbett: Dhikala, Jhirna, Bijrani, and Durga Devi. Bengal Tigers, chitals, deer, Asiatic elephant, black bear, otters, gharial, golden oriole, and a variety of bird species are its inhabitants.

4. Bandhavgarh National Park: The Bandhavgarh National Park was previously a hunting place for numerous royal families of Madhya Pradesh. The region has recently been designated as a Royal Bengal Tiger protected reserve.  Since then, the park's tiger population has prospered and it is now one of India's most densely inhabited tiger reserves.

The offerings involve guided safaris, where you can see and learn more about these majestic creatures. Leopards, neelghai, barking deer, Bengal foxes, striped hyenas, and other animals may be seen.  Mid of June to October is an ideal time to visit these creatures.

5. Kanha National Park: The Kanha National Park has earned international notice because it was included in Rudyard Kipling's renowned novel 'Mowgli.' Animals such as panthers, bears, pythons, and elephants can be seen, as described in the book. Kanha, Sarahi, Kisli, and Mukki are the four zones that make up the park. The national park is also home to a tiger group that roams the grounds. A visit to this park will make you recall one of your favourite childhood stories.

7. Satpura National Park: The optimum time to visit is between October and April. Satpura National Park is recognised for its unusual topography and is located in Madhya Pradesh. The rocky terrain and lush forest make it an ideal breeding place for a variety of creatures.
