What Happened at the Capgemini Daycare Centre

The case came to light after a complaint was filed by Tilakesh Kumar, a Legal and Probation Officer with the District Child Protection Unit, following videos that allegedly showed toddlers being abused at the daycare centre. The daycare operated inside Capgemini’s Brookefield campus in Whitefield and catered to the children of company employees.

According to the FIR, the caretakers allegedly used disturbing methods to silence and punish crying toddlers. The complaint states that staff members allegedly placed children inside a washing machine to frighten them, forced them to sit on a toilet, inserted a water pipe into their mouths, and forcefully released water into them. It further alleges that some children were locked inside bathrooms as punishment and were routinely beaten and intimidated.

The videos, which spread rapidly online, reportedly showed toddlers as young as two being subjected to this treatment, sparking widespread public anger and prompting swift action from both the police and child rights authorities.
